A new feature has been developed to make swapping sensors easy for both Checkit engineers and customers to undertake.
Principles and assumptions
- The process for swapping sensors will be driven from the Control Centre.
- The customer will need to use a mobile device.
- The process will guide the customer to attempt to swap the sensor near to its location so this will be assumed to be in range of the hub.
- It is assumed that the mobile device will be able to connect to the internet in this location, either by customer Wifi or 3G.
- Work on any one hub can only be done by one user at a time.
- We recommend that the customer avoids trying to do multiple sensor swaps at the same time.
- Sensor swaps can only be performed by an administrator.
Steps to perform sensor swap
1. To begin the sensor swap process navigate to the Control Centre (https://app.checkit.net/home).
There are two routes for navigating to the sensor to be swapped; you can either find a sensor from its location or from the hub that the sensor is attached to.
- To find a sensor by location, under the Automated Monitoring Devices section select the button named “Maintenance”
- Clicking the Maintenance button will take you to the screen as seen below which lists all locations where the logged in user is an administrator. Choose the location where the sensor to be swapped out is located and continue from step 2.
- To find a sensor by hub, under the Automated Monitoring Devices section select the button named “View/Edit” and on the following screen select the required hub.
- From the hub details screen, select the "Maintenance" button as seen below.
2. The screen will now display a list of sensors ordered by calibration expiry date. Select the sensor that you need to swap out by clicking on it.
3. The following screen will be displayed, now click on the green SENSOR SWAP button.
4. First step is to physically locate the old sensor, ensure you have a magnet fob with you and the new sensor. Click on to continue.
5. The next step is to ensure the correct sensor has been located by identifying the device you have located to the system. This is achieved by tapping the old sensor with the magnet fob. Wait for the screen to indicate that it has been identified. Click on to continue.
6. If the sensor is not active then confirm manually by inputting the serial number located on the underside of the old sensor. Click on to continue.
7. Confirmation screen will then appear to indicate that the device is now ready to swap out. Click on to continue.
8. Next the new sensor needs to be detected by the system. Tap the new sensor with the magnet fob.
If the new sensor is not picked up by the system, take it close to the nearest Checkit Hub and repeat the last step.
9. The screen will confirm that the new sensor has been identified by the system. Click on to continue.
10. The next screen confirms the details of the old and new sensor and indicates that the new sensor is suitable to be swapped with the old sensor. Click on to continue.
11. If the new sensor is not compatible for the swap you will be notified with the following message.
12. On successful swap the following confirmation will appear.
13. The last step is a final check to ensure the new device is successfully connected and has good signal strength. The screen will prompt you to tap the new sensor with the magnet fob.
14. If the connection and signal strength are OK you will see this final confirmation screen. Click on to finish the process.
15. You are returned to the device list screen and will see the details of the swapped in device with the new Calibration Expiry.
